Rico Auto's real footprint — geography hierarchy, divisions, and the SAP/ERP data-grain reality (which plants report actuals vs region-level).
Plants on SAP S/4 post transactions at plant level; newer/export units still record at area/region. The view labels each so actuals are never confused with estimates.
Plants on SAP S/4 — every transaction booked at plant/line grain. Trust as-is.
Migrating units & export desks — some postings still land at area level; allocation disaggregates them to plant using installed machines, headcount and order counts.
Newer/planned units — recorded only at region/area on legacy systems. The plant figure is a modeled estimate until cutover.
1 · Resolve the plant. Match legacy plant IDs, division names and addresses (Chennai / Oragadam unit = Unit 4021 = South India) into one golden plant record — you can't roll up what you can't match.
2 · Tag the grain. Every transaction carries its recording level (plant / area / region) and a confidence score, so the view shows actuals vs estimates instead of pretending they're the same.
3 · Disaggregate. For area-level postings, a driver model splits the total to plants by installed machines, headcount, order counts and payroll — weights learned from on-SAP plants where both grains exist during cutover.
4 · Reconcile & learn. Allocated plant sums must tie back to the area total; anomalies and duplicate brand-customer records get flagged. As each plant migrates to SAP, estimates flip to actuals — coverage is now 85% and rising.
